Caustic Calcined Magnesia

Caustic Calcined Magnesia (CCM) is produced from magnesium carbonate (MgCO3) or hydroxide (Mg(OH)2) through heat treatment  to ~1,000°C in order to convert the carbonate or hydroxide to magnesium oxide. This form of magnesium oxide is characterized by moderate to high chemical reactivity which is a welcome feature in a number of chemical applications.

Deadburned & Electrofused Magnesia

Deadburned Magnesia (DBM) and Electrofused Magnesia (EFM) are heat treated at very high temperatures to produce very low reactivity products. In addition these magnesias are characterized by large and ultra-large periclase crystal size and high grain density. These physical characteristics combined with their high melting point ensure suitability for very high temperature application areas such as refractories and welding fluxes.
